Once upon a time there was a boy who was death.

Paste the halves of the above url together to read my buddy Leonard's latest brilliant short story.

    MA related, as it happens.

"It is the same in all wars; the soldiers do the fighting, the journalists do the shouting, and no true patriot ever get near a front-line trench, except on the briefest of propoganda visits...Perhaps when the next great war comes we may see that sight unprecendented in all history, a jingo with a bullet-hole in him."

Behold, I see my father and mother.
I see all my dead relatives seated.
I see my master seated in Paradise and Paradise is beautiful and green; with him are men and boy servants.
He calls me. Take me to him.

Nice story, I liked the way his narrative style invoked that "old time story" feeling.
    Keep it simple, stupid.

Heh, I don't need to tell him nothing! Leonard is a writing fiend. Check out the archives on that blog - he basically posts a short story every day. This while he's working on at least two novels and gets probably a dozen or so freelance gigs a month, including some pretty plum interviews (a dual interview with Charlie Kaufmann and Michel Gondry for one, that one with David Carradine that "Kelar" linked to a couple weeks ago for another.)

The ludic kid is a bad mother shut yo mouf!
