    Thumbs up

    Congrats!

Making the team is a great accomplishment!

It's also cool that you get to visit the villiage that your parents are from. Sounds like it will be an awesome experience.

    Good luck!!!!

I only made it to the first one

You've seen the DVD I did on this, yes? If you've never been, it's worth your attention.

I neglected to mention that the Tiger Claw Foundation is the official U.S. Wushu team sponsor for the 4th World Traditional Wushu Championships.

guess the name of the tournament didnt exactly jump out for some people.

    world TRADITIONAL wushu championships.

although there are some modern wushu players there, when i went in 2006, there was alot more TCMArtists.

i will be competing with two choy lee fut sets: sup zhee zheep fu, cross intercepting the tiger fist, and mui fa ying qiang, plum blossom spear

btw, thanks for the asskissing guys!!! really appreciate the encouragement.
im writing from the outskirts of shanghai right now. just arrived.

doesn't matter if the form is traditional or not, the only form I've found useful in all my time studying TCMA are "foundational" forms a la Gung Gee Fook Fu, Iron Wire, Sam Bo Jin, some Baji stuff, Xing Yi stuff, etc. The type of stressful, strenuous building blocks to strength and a "gung fu body."

From my experience most CLF forms are just technical repetitions done in a different order with no real emphasis on the actual combat applications...

Doesn't matter either if a form is traditional or modern wushu, they really have no place in fighting and are only a tiny aspect of training.

To emphasize so much importance as to have a multi-national forms COMPETITION is really sad, IMHO.

I know some people will get offended by this but it is my honest opinion and it's not gonna change.

Is Ram Muay and Wai Kru used for fighting?

    No.

Even though in Thailand, a fighter can get AWARD for having the best/most extravagant Ram Muay!!!

But do you see "Ram Muay competition?" The answer is NO.

I hope I have made my point now.
