    Same

    Gene,

This is the same that I have. There is another triple staff set in NSL that is taught at the higher level. This set is longer than this one and it contains the same moves as well as much more difficult techniques such as vertical spinning of the staff and splits which is just before the golden scissors. The overall pattern is like NSL #7 (a center line where most of the techniques are performed and a secondary center line that bisects the main center line.) The set is called Continous Linking Triple Staff.

Do you have the lyrics to this set?

I didn't even know about that one.

No lyrics, sorry. I would love to see it though...

I know I've asked you this before, but I'd love to see a list of your entire BSL curriculam. Sounds like you have a lot more stuff than I do.

    jun_erh,

Unfortunately lyrics are usually associated specifically to the school or clan and not to the style as in this case SHaolin. Lyrics were develop for the students to memorize and help them remember the steps with in the set. Many of CMA could not read or write so they relied on these lyrics.

Originally the lyrics may have had a common link but so many years have past (generations) such that the lyrics became specific as mention above. One of the factors that encourage this practice of lyrics deviating is because of competition between different schools and clans.

Friendly matches between schools or clans of the same style would offed shout out lyrics during the matches and create confusion. What was thought as a common lyric now was used as an advantage because they changed the meaning.

So to get back to your original question... it is very difficult to determine what you want to do without observing the technique first hand and comparing it to what you already know.

Gene and I can communicate by lyrics because we are very close within a generation of NSL.
