BSL Lyrics: Shaolin #7 (The plum flower)

These lyrics are a different translation than the ones sifu Wing Lam did in his book on Moi Fah with Ted Mancuso. They came from the same source material, but I re-translated them for his video series. If some one is particularly industrious, they can copy them out of that book and post them below.
    Here's that book

NSL # 7 is the same.

    Gene,

Appears to be the same lyrics, pretty close like in #30, Shivering Rooster vs what I translated as Cold Duck and like # 35 Kick twice vs what I have as Double kick.

An alternate lyric in #38, Straight Low Kick; where I have Brother Lo Kicks.

Another alternate lyric in #39, Double Pointed Fist; where I have Seven Star Fist.

#36 is a lyric that I do not have. Neither does LTH or YSW have it listed.

Interesting side note that LTH does not have # 31, 32, 33. Instead his disciples perform one lyric; Vicious (Fierce) Tiger comes out of mountain and Kills (grabs) the Lamb (sheep) before going on to # 34.

    Question

Another alternate lyric in #39, Double Pointed Fist; where I have Seven Star Fist. ""

What does the term sevenstar mean in nsl, i have winglams #7 book, so this thread makes sence.
Things like blackcrow stretches its wings, makes sence.
I dont know where you would start, it would be interesting i would think, once you guys have all your rhymes listed, maybe you could break down some of the more esoteric and universal terms in your raps / keywords in nsl, and those that other styles use, cuz for me and im sure for many the meta4 of sets is a interesting but not fully conprehendable aspect of kf as a relative junior!.

    seven star sword

Thanks Kung Lek! It's worthy of note that I had access to TEd's translation since his book preceded our video, but I intentionally tried to reinterpret from the original Chinese.

Here's a snippet of an article I'm developing for our next issue about seven stars..
"And Zhen Wu’s sword, Santai Qixing Jian, was added to the celestial armory. Santai Qixing means Three Platforms, Seven Stars. The Seven Stars form the constellation that Westerners call the Big Dipper. Three Platforms is another northern constellation. Both recall Zhen Wu’s rule of the north. Zhen Wu’s Seven Star sword is one reason why modern straight swords still bear a seven-star pattern."

    Question

On a slightly offtopic question, Gene do you know about the origin of the term Shooting Star Fist?. I know one school of hungga from HoLapTin Shortly uses this term in one of thier sets, also that it is a main feature type term in tibet lions roar. I'm really curious on how far back this term go's!?.

    Shooting star

Well, I'd have to play with the characters to be sure. I've heard meteor fist which is equivalent to shooting star and has an obvious analogous quality to the movement. But also, there are references to the three star gods of Taoism - fortune, longevity and emolument. That's a lot harder to translate since you need the cultural context.
