Internet Heroes!
Awright! Who the hell thinks they know what fightingis?! I mean it, not martial arts, not good forms or bad attitude. I am talking about fighting, pure and simple, some people facing off, in a random place and fighting for what might be thier lives!
Do you classical guys really think your forms are going to save you? do you think they are going to develope the reflexes and the proper position to win a fight? Do you think your hollywood type posturing is going to intimidate some guy who wants to beat your ass balck and blue? Do you grappling guys really think that every fight is goin to the ground? do you think you can make every fight go to the ground? Do you seriously think flopping to the ground and waiting for some guy to attack is going to finish it? I have seen dogs roll over to expose thier belly but it wasnt to fight! Do you free form, mix martial arts, studying everything under the sun to know thy enemy seriously think that a little ADD mixed with martial arts is going to help you to throw down when it gets serious? Do you think you have some edge because you saw a guy once who did that, and sparred with him? do you think trying to imitate all the good stuff is going to get you out alive?!!?!?!?!? Well!?

Yup. I was hoping the ol' "I know karate" would scare them away.
 Really though, your questions is going to bring nothing but trouble and could be considered a troll. Why? I would consider myself learning a traditional art: Hsing-I/Ba Gua, yet I do not do forms, point spar and my "stance" would look like a western boxers, but sunk in the shoulders. I'm sure "grapplers" and "mixed martial artist" would also not want to be categorized. Though, in a certain sense your question has merit because there are a lot of MA who need to wake up to relaity, but everyone thinks that person is everybody else and it really doesn't matter what anyone else is doing, as long as you are satisfied with your training. Well, let's see where this goes anyway. I'm game. I have three hours to kill.

 No I didnt get beat up LOL Waterdragon! Apoweyn, no worries, and no I am not trying to troll. I have a lot of respect for most of you guys. There are some people taht no matter what thier background is, or what they practice or study, or for why, have some pretty good and intelligent things to say. But is it just me that gets sick of all the testosterone laden claims on this board? I mean, I generally stay away from the internet for exactly that reason, alot of 'telephone toughguys' and such. I just get irritated sometimes trying to dig through all the slop for the few pearls. Heres my favorites: Apoweyn - my friend you rock! intelligent, and you are on here during working hours almost as much as I am! Waterdragon - you make me laugh funny boy! No really, you say some good things and some funny things too GDA - when being serious your true self shines through, but most of the time you are just plain crazy, in the good way Ryu - You have got to be the most polite and well spoken person I have ever read! EvolutionFist (BakMei) - for taking all the crap, saying some extreme things and daring to be who you are! Tae Li - for stikcing to your guns regarding Jet Li, If I were a girl I might have him hanging on my wall too! Wushuchick - for being a women in a boys world Kung Lek - for being wise, and hangin on through all the crap you get! Rubthebhudda - for having all the right opinions at all the right times! Shaolindynasty - for just being you man! Kebsball - for making me think, you are on deep person! Sharky - For making the house hop!!!!! AfricanTiger, Johnny, Paul, whoever else served in the armed forces! For those who didnt serve but respect us who did! LEGEND - for exteraneous use of the caps lock! and for saying some pretty sharp things! Yenhoi - for keeping an opne mind I cant list all of you but you probably know who you are, you guys all rock and if I have to dig through the crap, and the extremely bizarre avatars GDA puts up then so be it!!!!! I'm felin a lot love right now, (sniff, sniff) can someone get me a tissue?
