Carlson Gracie has died

I know it may not mean much to wc people . . . but pioneer in jusitsu died today . . . "Carlson Gracie was in hospital since yesterday due to renal complications. According to his best friend, Oswaldo Paquetá, the death was confirmed this morning. The cause was not yet totally cleared up by doctors. It is known that Carlson Gracie had been suffering from prostate gland problems and at the time he went into the hospital there were stones in his kidney." The martial art world has lost a legend.

Much respect

So sad.... but his legacy lives on in the surviving members of the Gracie family and the many BJJ / JJ practitioners of the world.
RIP Carlson Gracie.

There are several threads with many photos, etc. on the Underground forum

http://www,mma.tv/TUF

and it's "Jiu Jitsu", where Carlson Gracie is concerned.

RIP.

The man forged what would become Brazilian Top Team, Nova Uniao, Carlson Gracie Team... Sperry, Bustamante, Liborio, Goes, Pedenaires and a veritable who's who of some of the greatest grapplers of modern era. His legacy lives on...
