7star and Plum Blossom question

Hello! I have been a student of 7* mantis for a couple years but have recently moved away from my school. I feel pretty dedicated to my style but the local 7* school where I am now trains in a different way than I am used to, and dosen't neccesarily seem like the best fit for the way I want to study.

I have, however, found a Plum Blossom teacher who seems just up my alley.

If I switch styles, what can I expect in terms of my skill set? Will my skills (like say, gungsec peck choy) translate across into Plum Blossom?

Any other input you all can give me?

Gungsek ????

In my school we use the term gung sek and wah sek. You are the first other than my Sifu that I had heard use these terms. What lineage are you from?
