Shao-lin KF is a path in Buddhism
has this been discussed to death, or needs a visit ?
Saw a documentary on it two days ago, simply called Shao-Lin Kungfu. what are the opinions of KFO ? (should this be on the Shao-Lin forum instead) oh yeah - when I say Buddhism, I definitely mean the doctrineless path... meaning you can still be Christian, or Muslim or whatever you believe in.... Depends on what you want out of your training. If all you want to learn is fighting, then no it probably isn't a Buddhist path
. If you are looking for more out of your training then yes it could probably be considered a Buddhist path (as could many forms of training).

I agree if its just martial arts itself - but what if it's specifically, Si-lum gungfu ?

It is not different - it is only a Buddhist path if your intention is for it to be Buddhist. Sure, the roots of the practice are in Buddhism, but it is the individual's intention that counts is it not?

Kung fu can be a path in Buddhism. But it doesn't have to be.
Kinda depends on the practitioner.

One of the grandmasters said "Most practitioners begin to flla backwards at about 50-60 years of age, but if you practise this set, you will conitue to improve" or something along those lines. It speaks of Boddhidharma and the 5th century Indian monk, and their formulation of the yogas. It seems they were mostly chinese names in the credits, but the narrator was speaking in American. |

hmm, still not sure which one it is...
But FWIW, everything can be a path of Buddism - painting, singing, sitting, even some very negative things, it just depends one how you look at it. It could be very bad buddhism, but buddhism just the same. Check out Zen at War - it tackles some anti-semite 'enlightened' zen masters who used the teachings to justify WWII.
