Thread: Zhang San Feng Festival

  1. #166
    hey guys, it was a blast to meet DD, Gene and Uki in person; also a pleasure to sit down and chat w/Sifu Painter and his associates re:some of the more salient issues facing CMA in this current day and age;

    next time everyone has to come to NYC - we can sneak into LKFMDC's gym, hog tie him, and make him watch re-runs of "Kung Fu"

    the whole idea of the festival has given me a ka-zillion idea's... we have almost 3 acres here adjacent to 19 acres of my girlfriends grandmother. there are a few small ponds, lots of woods, and a stream... i intend to add some earth-stone-wood yurts this summer... anyhow, i am offering our space up to utilize for workshops and what-not. in the true martial arts fashion, there would be no charge(donations would be fine) - what would be benefited from this idea would be a great reduction in the price of the tickets, which would attract more people, and would be in a more natural setting. there is even a house for rent at the end of our road that has weekend and weekly rates, aswell as numerous hotels, and there is also the fine art of camping out... just think about it... open sky, bonfires, drum and music circles at night. meals could be jointly prepared, with the sharing of recipies between attendee's and teachers... more reminiscent of the late jou tsung hwa's original festival, as opposed to this modernized-yuppie-style organization... i mean a resort is nice and all, but in the end, health and healing are about returning to nature, not vacationing in nature.

    just tossing the idea out there.

    i too enjoyed meeting forum members face to face... actually it is the first time i have ever met anyone in person that i met over the internet first.
