Question Recommended teachers in Houston, Texas

A good friend is moving to Houston, Texas soon and I'm helping him find a couple of recommended schools to check out.

Styles are not as important as quality of instruction and environment. Preferably, a teacher with a good grasp of internal mechanicsl.

I'd guess my friend will probably also want to stay away from the big-commercial-contract-auto-draft-from-your-bank-account schools.

    Thanks for any sincere recommendations.

I am assuming he is interested in Taji or what? LOL have to narrow it down a little more. There are lots of schools in and around the Houston area.

    Hi Wushu Tiger,

Good Taiji would certainly be worth checking out. However, he's really not as interested in a particular style as he is quality of instruction and a good training environment. I know that's still pretty vague, but he's open... and really just wants to find a top school/teacher who is the real deal.

    Thanks.

    Taiji in Houston

If you are interested in learning Tajiquan from an authentic instructor, I would recommend, Chief Instructor Lucy Wu off of Corporate Drive and Bellaire. She is the daughter of the legendary and gifted Professor Wang JuRong. She has learned and mastered all five major styles of taijijquan in addition to the standardize routines.

    recommendation

    Hi,

I would like to highly recommend a master from Chen Village. Grandmaster Cheng Jin Cai, president of the US Chen Tai Chi Federation, 19th generation grandmaster of Chen Tai Chi, he is a familiar name to people in Houston through his teaching at the International Chen Style Tai Chi Development Center.
    here is his website.
