Massive Muscle Pumping

Greetings,

This document is 100 pages long. What is of interest are pages from @67 to 79 that detail the various shakes that were used in the past. I remember that there was interest here on this subject a few years ago. Take a look. The recipes could use some tweaking (I do not believe in seeking to trigger a high insulin response on everything I consume -- it has to just give me what I need), but they are really good. The ingredients used is consistent with some of the stuff I learned from fitness addicts who really needed something to help them enjoy what they loved to do.

This is worth printing out. Enjoy!!

Hello Hanak,

I only put up that link for the information on the nutritional shakes.

To answer your question, no, it is not necessary to become incredibly huge in order to do what you enjoy doing. But you need to understand that increases in muscular size goes with increases in strength. It is not in the way your see it depicted in bodybuilding magazines.

You have already defined your goal. How do you plan to get there? This requires some mapping. Some people can improve their power from stance and bag work. You have to find what will get you where you want to go.

I seem to recall reading something about strongmen from the early 1900s using a muscle building shake that had beer in it.

Greetings IronFist,

Even Franco Colombu recommended beer after practice. I have also seen some CMA drink beer after practice. I guess it is the hops.

After my wife ran a marathon, the organizers had beer available to the runners after they finished the race. Not sure the reasoning behind it but i found it funny.

I wonder what would happen if you made a protein shake with beer.

You'd have to use Guinness or something without much carbonation.

On man, a carbonated protein shake would be the worst. Protein farts AND burps!

An hypothesis could be beer contains a fair bit of carbohydrate, energy and water content, may be the reason beer is consumed at the end of exercise activity.

Many distance runners will also drink a Coke that is partially flat. It gets the sugar back into the muscles faster.

Beer is bad for you after a work out. It feels great though, goes right to your head. I don't drink soda, but coke is even worse for you than beer. It's true you need to replenish carbs fast, but both coke and beer are dehydrating...and that's the least bad thing they do. Sorry. I still have beer after working out...but I know I shouldn't.

mmmmm, beer smoothie! The late Doug Hepburn used to add beer to his own line of protein supplement. I remember those. They came wrapped like a brick of c-4. Heavy.
