I remember him most from Mr. Vampire. He did that one scene where he had some sort of imitation spell and his physical comedy in that was simply brilliant.

Hong Kong veteran comedian Ricky Hui was found dead in his house yesterday. The 65-year-old is suspected to have died from a heart attack.

According to sources, Ricky's assistant had problems reaching him yesterday. He later visited Ricky's home, but no one answered the door.

Ricky's assistant then tried contacting the comedian's friends and relatives, but still could not locate him. Finally, the assistant had a locksmith open Ricky's door. Ricky was found unconscious on his bed.

The police received a call from Ricky's assistant at approximately 8.50pm. According to preliminary investigations, Ricky is believed to have died for a period of time and is suspected to have suffered a fatal heart attack.

Ricky began his showbiz career as an acting trainee with Shaw Brothers (Hong Kong) Ltd in the 70s, and participated in more than 40 movies. The comedian was once an essential supporting character in various vampire-themed movies, including Front Page, The Haunted Cop Shop and Mr Vampire.

Ricky's day of death also coincided with the death anniversary of Lam Ching-ying, one of Hong Kong's famous actors who acted in many vampire-themed movies. He had played the role of Ricky's master in the movie Mr Vampire.

Apart from vampire-themed movies, Ricky also starred in a series of movies with Michael, his elder brother, and Samuel, his younger brother.

Despite having a great voice and bringing laughter to audiences, Ricky was never as famous as his brothers and often played supporting roles.
