And I thought wushu aerials were just an exercise in showboating.

idk, it looked like he was going for it. maybe not that exactly but he was looking for a way over quickly. the most acrobatic fights ive seen are judo comps, you get some really sweet acrobatics in a lot of the time for evasion/escape.
For whoso comes amongst many shall one day find that no one man is by so far the mightiest of all.
Jumping over the legs is a pretty common tactic in MMA, but there's no way he meant for it to turn out like that, lol.
Of course if that was me i'd totally claim it was my intention.

watched it a few times...it looks to me like that's what he was going for--minus the foot and the extra distance of course. Sweet.
looks like he was going for the aerial to me as well.
I see a whole new generation of XMA/MMA being born.
People will be doing aerials, and that cage wall flying roundhouse thing.
Then it will mix with pro wrestling, and be this choreographed wu-shu mma, which will attract a larger fanbase and make more money.
Then, the video games, and the movies, action figures and Saturday cartoon.
Of course, everyone will want the latest fashion t-shirts..

"I will not be part of the generation
that killed Kung-Fu."
....step.
lol cartwheel pass gone wrong, nice body awareness though
That was awesome! Nice follow up with the head kick.
Showboating! It was a totally unnecessary move. It looked nice, but a waste of energy and risky!
He didn't do it on purpose...
Like Frost said, it was a cartwheel pass. He was attempting to get over the guys legs in order to beat his face in.
His opponent actually lifted him over himself. I counted 3 times his foot made contact with his stomach on the way over.
