He was a beast in his time like Randy Couture also got a tooth kicked out by Machida when he retired they have just been playing the game at such a high level for a bit too long I guess but atleast they did it and in multiple weight classes......RESPECT

    Here's a linky

"This is probably the last time you're ever going to see me here," Penn told Joe Rogan after losing a close decision to Diaz. "I want to perform at the top level. I've got a daughter and another daughter on the way. I don't want to go home looking like this. I'm done."

BJ Penn fought, and beat, the best there is through out his career.
For whoso comes amongst many shall one day find that no one man is by so far the mightiest of all.

I read the thread first and then watched the fight, I then wondered if maybe I watched the wrong fight as it was hardly a whooping? But then I saw who made the thread and it all made sense

It was a close fight, he did very well in the first round against a very tough fighter, and lasted so long in such a demanding sport, cant think of many that are still fighting from his era

He was a great MMA fighter, a great BJJ player and a very exciting guy to watch

he beat the best at his weight class who were around, not his fault when he moved up they proved to strong for him, in his time no one could touch him at his weight

At his best he was so very relaxed...and so very good.
