A lot quicker then the flank to me…

Fortunately for us we train to fight in the middle and on the flank. You have to deal with the situation. But for those who say that WC never fights on the flank at all take a look at the wooden dummy form. I also have a clip of Sifu Chan Chee Man showing how YM taught him how to fight on the flank (blind side), when you're in trouble on the inside. So if you're a YM purist and YM taught it then the concept has to have some validity right?

I don’t know of any system that runs the flank on the wooden man, which seems kinda funky, because the wooden man should be teaching body unity (feet follows the hands)… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8X7nVZhqb04

    I was taught:

“Just because one is on the outside of the arm (wooden man), doesn’t mean that one is always on the outside”…

Or maybe it was just his preferrence to stay there. All this bickering IMO stil doesn't prove the mirrored stance is right or wrong... And not trying to troll by saying this.
I assume that Sifu Ali choses to fight crossed stance and also on the inside - it's his preference. And I hear Sifu Phil saying he fights both ways, take what comes.
IMO, they both show preference (or lack of) based on training and/or experience. It's tough though saying one is wrong where the other is right based on THIER experience...

    Grados Video Example

Grados is quick. No denying that.
    BUT...
That guy he fought pulled at least ten punches that I could see.
And it was pretty much just a slap fight.
In fact, all the big guy did at the start of each round was to just keep Pak Sau'ing Grados' punches, without even trying to attack any of the MANY openings Grados had in his center. The guy went round punch on Grados while Grados stayed punching in the middle.
Which, though you THINK it supports your point, it doesn't.
Since the guy was obviously slower than Grados, for him to STAY ON THE INSIDE was SUICIDE for him!
He SHOULD have gone to the outside!
But, again, this is a poor example, because the guy never used his bigger size. He tried to play Grados' game, which Grados is better at. If he had USED his size in this video, and Grados had been able to "Pivot" out of it, THEN you MIGHT have had something.

Ah, you make the logically false point that since YOU don't know any, then there AREN'T any.

    Let's see... The temple.
Under the ear, there are two.
The floating rib, which if broken, frequently pucnctures the lung.
The famous "Charley Horse" on the side of the thigh.
    A cross knee shot.

He was never in danger because the guy sucked compared to Grados!

And it was only his speed that was superior. They both had a lot of slop.

So if you are faster than anyone, stay on the inside.

If you are normal, then you need to use strategy and structure and technique.

And again, WHERE did the guy ever USE his size?
