Mantis schools in Scarborough or Markham area of Ontario?

    Hi everyone,

Any praying mantis schools in the Scarborough or Markham areas of Ontario ?

I located one on the internet:

    http://www.martialartmantis.com/intro.html

and was wondering if there were any other in the area
that are not listed on the internet.

    Thanks.

WCFighter- I'm from the Borough, and thats the school I train at.

There is aTai Chi school that also teach's some form of Mantis if you want more info I can try to find out.

If you have any questions about the school, just ask, or even better drop by any Sunday between 2-4.

    Hey Skarbromantis,

Thanks for getting back to me.

I've heard that the mantis style is very effective, and I have been
curious about it for some time.

I've been training in wing chun for years, I love it, I think its effective, I don't plan on abandoning it, but lately I've been feeling tempted to learn another style on the side; especially a cool-looking style like praying mantis.

The only trick is to get my wife to give me permission. I already drive her up the wall with my wing chun training.

Does Master Chow teach children classes ?

( Maybe when my kids are old enough, they can start
    training in mantis. )

Does Master Chow teach privately outside the regular class times ?

    Please let me know.

    Thanks.

Yes the Mantis system is very effective.

Sifu does teach kids, depending on their age, if they are too young he wont teach them, my son started training with Sifu when he was 12.

In regards to teaching privately outside the regular class times, that is something you would need to speak to Sifu about, I know others have done privates with him, but that is something that only Sifu can answer based on his time available.

But our in-class training is all one on one with Sifu, every motion is taught by himself to every student.

Feel free to stop by any Sunday.

On a side note what part of the borough are you in? or are you in Markham? I'm at Warden and Sheppard.

If you ever want to hook up, let me know, My good friend is a Sifu under William Cheung, and I have done quite a bit of sparring against your style, I respect the WC system, and I'm always looking for Kung Fu friends in the city.

    Peace

    Thanks for your reply Skarbromantis.

My kids would probably be too young ; right now anyway.

Yeah, it'd be cool to meet and talk one day after new years.
I like getting to know other local kung fu practicioners , too.

Lemme know your e-mail, and we'll correspond outside this
    forum.

All the best to you over the holidays.
