Thread: Hung Fut?

    Hung Fut?

Does anyone know where I can find information on the Hung Fut style? I'm a new student in this style and I've found it very difficult to find a source. Even those at my school admit that finding information beyond the rudimentary history is difficult as the style is so rare. I've had some limited success on the internet, and I'll continue searching. I'm really enjoying the training, so I'm keen to find out as much as I can about it. If anyone can narrow my search, or suggest other sources, please let me know...

Thanks for the input guys. I may be switching to a different school fairly soon which practices Wing Chun, so my searching may be unecessary (but still interesting) ...

    Thx.

tai yim runs a first rate operation for cma.

he was a major sponsor of the international kung fu wushu open in washington, d.c. for about ten years or so. He brought a Shaolin team over a couple of times, too. His style represents an interesting intersection in the history of southern arts and focuses on weapons as opposed to empty hand fighting. But the empty hand forms he has are significant. he has a couple of really nice long forms, (3) five animals forms and empty hand versus weapons form. you should stick around for at least that and one of the five animals forms before looking for wimp chump.

The switch to Wing Chun is a matter of necessity more than anything. I really would've liked to stick with Hung Fut longer, but unfortunately it's not possible...

Sounds like you're not a fan of WC....no?
