i have heard that this weapon is just another PRC wushu hybrid weapon. its funny that this weapon now becomes available when we have seen the klingon sword in the movies.

I've only actually seen one demo of this weapon...

...and it sure didn't look like wushu. It was a little snippet on some survey tape, so I couldn't discern the master of the style. All the examples I have seen are way too heavy for wushu. I've heard it connected with bagua, but have never validated that. I think that connection is in error, more becuase of an alternate name that references two of the trigrams of bagua.

    weapon

I have seen a similar weapon in Mei Hua Zhang (Plum Blossom Style) from Shandong. It only a crescent along the handle and spear tips, but looked similar....almost.

    cheers

Buddhapalm - Was that a water dividing blade?

Sort of a big "d" shaped thing, where the arc was the blade? There is also a cicade wing blade which is similar to the heaven and earth, but has longer side blades, like mini broadswords (thus cicada wings...)
