So then the way to dominate is by controlling their elbows? Is that what you're saying?
If you're going to control the elbow, you might as well control the body and head. If you're going to control the body and head, you might as well throw them. If you throw them, you might as well...
I would love to see someone successfully fight in YGKYM. It's a training stance, you don't fight in it. If you do, you're going to get hit...a lot...by anyone trained properly who fights...
The real question isn't the "fak sao" technique...but the "fak yoo" technique. When someone attacks with a punch....BAM--FAK YOO! If they attack with a kick "BAM BAM--FAK YOO TWO!"
That first video only illustrates what happens when a freight train collides with a Kia. Not to mention that neither one of them showed any real skill in fighting to be honest. It was just mess. ...
That's actually a cool website. I think I'll bookmark it. I haven't reviewed how to remove a fishing barb in a long time. :p
This thread is worthless without video. :)
But congrats Allan. Always a fan of Robert Chu's system and your efforts in putting WC on the map as a legit method of fighting.
Good luck with that...there's barely any WC sparring let alone "good" WC sparring.
Kick the heavy bag. You can lift weights etc...but all that other mess is secondary to good form and learning to kick something that weighs more than you.

I think there are many schools that have a combined approach. I once trained in an EBMAS school that did quite well in that regard.
The instructor would have the class work basic techniques,...
The only thing more useless than forms....is the discussion of the usefulness of forms. :p
I dont know....all this talk about St Louis...makes me wanna split.

I don't think Dave meant anything by it. He's right in that it was a little tasteless to say something like that, as it doesn't have any direct link to the viability of one's wing chun skill. ...
While it may not seem classy, nothing I said wasn't accurate. But racist?! One of my best friends is black, and he speaks very intelligently. I have another close friend who's white...
And I'll put it this way...if I was those guys on those videos...I wouldn't post anything...ever.
It's not the fact that they're stationary per say, or that they have trouble speaking English,...
Some would argue that WC doesn't work against ANY fighters...well except non-trained ones.
I threw up in my mouth after watching those clips.
True, that particular WC man has a couple vids out there. But this is an example of man vs man more than style vs style. The other guy simply couldn't fight...at all. It looked like the WC guy...
That WC guy needs to go to chain punchers anonymous.
Ok, now I'll bite
Po Pai? Really? A double palm strike is what you found to be the most advantageous in a "real fight"?
Here's what I say to that: I'm punching myself in the face
**** chops...glad to see you're still at it. You train more than I do....and probably eat better too.
He may mean total. I've got about 46,000 rounds over the past 30 years if that's the case. :p
If the term sparring is confusing...theres better thing to be doing that spending time on a forum.
