to be fair, if i was bombing down to 7-11 and some guy started asking me random trivia about canada and the world i might mess up. easy questions are the worst when you are on the spot.
Xia - No but I work at a pizza shop near the original nicolas` location. So older people assume its the one I work for. I saw the book review when I googled the shops name though.
sicilian yakuza? sounds like nick zapetti. of ueno black-market/ nicolas pizza fame.
accurate or not, its pretty much my favorite movie subject. my local video stored seems to have an endless supply of yakuza brawling films.
yah most guys ive worked in the food industry with have some clever system of keeping their ring on a rope firmly attached somewhere on their person. i would have rather got a really cheap band in...
Becca, thats gruesome.
Mr. Punch, I train at "Fortis Shibuya" gym. Not far from the station.
I don`t study any pole/staff/cudgel officially yet. I do however practice some single-head and double-head pole that I had...
wow, the ones in those links are a bit much. i`m just concerned about not breaking my hand. luckily i live in a city(tokyo) where there is almost no fighting outside of gyms. at least not with fists.
oooh good point. not sure if the simple band type i`d go for could actually cut. but you never know. if you are voluntarily involved in a fight there should be time to take them off.
ive hit the...

variety may be to blame too. you cant really tell wether you like soemthing from watching 1 class. thus people sign up for 3 months then decide wether to continue. these days there are tons of...
all hard use of hands can cause problems. including arthritis. just do a rub down after and its no worries. me thinks all authentic iron training have more than enough preventative measures.
pretty much. they have a pretty bad reputation it seems. but man are they convenient.
they are open when YOU want to train. what a concept.
hmmm this style has a form with a very short machete/sword?
ooh and it has good scheduling options. group or private lessons. interesting as thats exactly where i am headed in a couple weeks.
i'm not good at remembering a bunch of different forms and such. thats where empty the cup is good. just go with what the current school is doing, since that must be what i came there for.
on another note if i personally was teaching martial arts i'd probably use my first name. but would be pleased if someone called me sifu.
i say go with the flow. the most senior students usually know whats up. i'd feel weird about calling a sifu by his first name, but its the sifu's choice.
