Professor Tu Weiming, part 1

I don't think I took a photo with the Professor. We didn't interact much. That was my oversight. I was too distracted catching up with old friends perhaps. I did enjoy his talk, especially his notion of void in Buddhism and Daoism.
The actual forum went on for hours. There were other speakers, dialog between some of the speakers, and some Q&A.
Do you remember what he said about void in Buddhism and Daoism? What was it that you liked?
Unfortunately, I fear my paraphrasing of his thoughts on the matter would pale by comparison and while I should have taken notes on that, I didn't. Sorry breeze. Maybe you can ask him yourself someday.
I'd probably first ask him, what makes him repeat the old Bodhidharma-stories as if they now would have any historical evidence (his "proof" seems to be: "this is very well known all over the world now"). Did i miss any new discoveries? Does he ignore academic research in Chan, Shaolin and martial arts' history?
Still he seems to me one of the most interesting contempory thinkers of China, and his attempts to bring together confucianism and democracy are surely worth reflecting upon.
Was there anything about Shaolin Medicine during the festival?
I missed that privatized vid/photo link severance. If you examine our forum, that happens a lot. The web is always in flux.
How about you bring me to Berlin and I'll answer all of your questions for you. I've never been to Berlin. :D
Just saw this on the STCC facebook page.
